Key Worker System

Across all three rooms your child will be allocated a key worker when they start nursery. We use an online journal called `Famly` where your child`s key worker will observe and monitor your child`s development and progress. This is a secure and confidential way of sharing your child`s development and captures their individual `wow moments` beautifully. This enables parents to contribute to their child`s learning.

The services we offer:

  • Welcoming your child to our nursery:    When visiting the nursery you will receive a welcome pack including a registration form and the terms and conditions of the nursery. Once you decide you want your child to start nursery we will arrange pre visits to gradually settle your child into their new environment. We ask parents to complete a daily routine for young children so our staff are able to attend to your child`s needs in the settling in period. Your child will be given their own basket labelled with their name and a colourful picture where we can keep all their belongings and personal comforting items safe.

  • Partnership with Parents: We value our partnership with parents as well as maintaining good communication regarding your child`s day and their development we also keep our parents informed by termly newsletters, events, fundraising and topics the children will be learning about. We encourage parents to contribute in many ways including completing feedback forms regarding the nursery to ensure we are providing our children and parent`s with the best possible childcare.

  • Pre-visits: Pre-visits are encouraged before your child starts nursery. In this time your child will become familiar with their new environment and keyworker. Staff will monitor how well your child is settling, to how many pre-visits are needed.

  • Partnership continued: Each week, a different child will bring home the ‘Circle Time’ letter where your child has an opportunity to bring in something special from home and talk about it in front of all the children. Parents are also informed about different topics such as planting and growing, and are encouraged to help bring things in or contribute to each topic.
